UK Travel Day 10 - The Home Stretch July 30, 2007

by Dave

After a bit of a sleep in, we got a park-n-ride into Scarborough to hopefully get our dose of surfing for the week. Sadly, the sea was completely calm, although I have to say I was slightly relieved as I was feeling a bit under the weather with a hangover. We had a little walk around Scarborough all the same, and checked out the fair that was much more lively than the previous evening. It wasn’t quite the medieval trading event Wikipedia tells me it once was, but it was… alright, I guess.

We headed homeward through Whitby and Saltburn, checking the sea to see if there was a chance of slightly bigger waves, but to no avail. There wasn’t much more for us to do other than go home now, so we drove the last few miles to drop David off, waved a final goodbye to Garry the River, the shark, then I dropped Martyn off and came home myself!

And that’s the story of our little adventure.
