EU Travel Day 21 - Living Year 22 August 29, 2007

by Dave

I woke up with a birthday hangover on Tuesday 28th August. I was quite confused about why my head was hurting in more ways than one until Martyn explained the ‘falling in a bush’ incident. I’d also like to mention that the heavy intoxication had a moral undertow, in that we didn’t want to take drugs into a country where they were illegal so we smoked the lot.

kittens.JPGI can’t think of a good
picture for this post, so here’s
some kittens in a pumpkin.

Anyway, we set off for Cologne, Germany. I was armed with a heavy hangover so Martyn drove the two hour journey. We couldn’t find the camp site in the book but we managed to fluke stumbling upon a Waldbad camping about 12 kilometers outside of Cologne. And yes, we’ve gone entirely metric after spending a few weeks on the continent.

We were both fairly tired and it was getting into the early evening so we decided to take it easy and make some more corn flake cake. We’re getting pretty good at that now, after my burnt mess the first time and the cannabis-laced second attempt. That was pretty lethal to eat.

Not much else to report really, except it was really cold and wrapping a hoodie round your feet is a great way to combat frozen tootsies (thanks to Martyn for this discovery).

Oh, and I continued writing my song “My Arse Went To Belgium”, hopefully it’ll be ready when I’m home.

  1. why can’t you place a picture of both of you in Cologne or something, instead of two stupid cats in a pumpkin ;) well ok, they’re sweet….

it sounds like a good begin of your birthday ;)

and I’m curious about your songs :)

    hear from you later!

    kisses again

  2. Haha, well, you heard part of the song about “Ducks On The Camp Site”, so I’m sure you know the sort of quality level we’re dealing with here :P

and I’d love to be able to get some of the photos we’ve taken up on here, but sadly we both forgot to bring the cables for our cameras so it’ll probably have to wait til we’re home. Most internet cafes dont let you plug things in anyway :( x
