EU Travel Day -6 - Postal Strike August 2, 2007
Well, the insurance documents didn’t come through, probably due to recent postal strike action, which ended yesterday from what I can gather. Since we can’t travel in Europe without these documents, we can’t set off until it arrives. Hopefully, though, we’ll set off tomorrow in the hope of finding a reasonably priced ferry crossing.

A little time spent searching Google has led to finding cheaper ferries from Dover to Dunkerque with Norfolkline, bringing us closer to the Belgian border than landing in Calais would have. This is handy, as we’re planning to meet a Dutch friend in Belgium this weekend.
Unfortunately this setback shaves even more time off our trip, which has sadly grew shorter by the month since the conception of the travelling idea. Still, though, we’ll get a taste of Europe with the opportunity to earn some cash and maybe make a better go of it next year. I’m getting ahead of myself here, we haven’t even set off yet…
