EU Travel Day 27 - A Fast Lift September 4, 2007

We went back to Berlin again on Monday.  This time, we went to an area of the city called Potsdamer Platz (where we are right now, in fact), and went up 24 floors in Europe’s fastest lift.  It’s quoted as taking 20 seconds for the 100-metre ascent, but I swear it was faster!  Feeling rather light headed at the top, we walked out onto the viewing platform and looked at Berlin from on high.

Berlin really is a beautiful city with more to do and see than is probably possible in a life time.  I’d like to give Wendy another special mention here, for taking the time to provide us with a simply amazing amount of information to enhance our travels.  She even went to the trouble of adding photos of berlin to her website for us to browse to see what we liked!  Also for emailing me videos of one-dance-move-guy and his dance move.

We went to see The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, which gave us the intended feelings of slight discomfort and disorientation as we wanrered amongst it’s concrete slabs.  More information can be found on Wikipedia.

We were still tired from the previous night’s activities, so we went to bed early, and it was very cold under the clear sky.
