EU Travel Day 52 - How Much? October 2, 2007

by Martyn

We got our arses in gear early to head into Zurich and have a look about. First we needed another new currency before we could explore our new city.

Zurich has recently been named as the city with the highest standard of living in the world, for the second year running. That’s because to live in Zurich you need to be a fucking millionaire. Everything is ridiculously expensive. In fact that is an understatement. 38 CHF for 2 hours on the Internet is one step away from daylight robbery with buggery thrown in free.So we decided that buying stuff would probably be against our best interest and we wandered instead. But Zurich is pretty boring if you don’t have money, due largely to the amount of fashion shops and fancy cafes.

We didn’t like the city, or its prices very much so we headed back to the campsite early and that was another day gone. Well almost. Dave would never forgive me if I left the next bit out. Whilst sat in the car alter on Dave did a “double barrelled sneeze”. Dave thought this was amazing, and talked of how he could maybe take this new found talent on the road and make millions. In Dave’s own words “it was mental, two came right after each other, didn’t even have time to recover from the first”.

The night ended with Dave telling me how when he was 8 he did a “machine gun sneeze”.

Help.
